Hi Yvonne.
Unless your dentist has a CT scan (3D x-ray) of the area where your baby teeth are he can’t be sure that you are not suitable for implant placement in the area where your baby teeth are.
At Winning Smiles we routinely remove baby teeth that have ‘outstayed their welcome’ and replace them with implants – usually on the same day! Not sure where you are in the UK but you need to find a dentist who ‘does implants’….I suspect your dentist doesn’t…you know the old saying ‘if all you’ve got is a hammer ever job looks like a nail’?!!

Hi Andrew, I have been told my 2 baby teeth do not have long before they will come out, leaving me with 2 visible gaps. I have been told that i do not have a strong bone structure for implants and that a bridge would be better. What are the long term problems I could face with ether choice?

Hi Sharon,
Immediate veneers are a good medium term solution for you – but long term porcelain crowns will be more resilient to stains, stay in better and have the edge aesthetically. To work well Immediate Veneers have to be bonded to lots of enamel – which will be lacking in your case. I’m sure it is practised in Ireland. Try Blue Apple Dental – if he’s not near you he may know a man/woman who can who is closer to home?

Dear Dr Williamsburg,
Porcelain Veneers are superb and nothing can touch them for lustre and stain resistance. However Immediate veneers using the latest cosmetic composites are getting better all the time:
-We can now polish them to an enamel-like finish.
-There are no lab bills so they cost less.
-There is much less tooth reduction (grinding away of enamel to all those non dentists reading this)
-When finished they wear like teeth so no danger of causing accelerated enamel abrasion to the tips of the lower teeth.
-Due to there being little or now enamel reduction composite veneers are usually bonding to lots of enamel with little or no dentine bonding required: they are less likely to fall off than conventional porcelain veneers
-They can be done in one sitting
-Finally they can be repaired seamlessly if they chip without needing to replace the whole veneer

Lots of reasons to love them!

Instant Veneers are suitable for any age really. It depends what the problem is. EG a young person (under 18) who has crooked teeth would be well advised to have braces to straighten them rather than going for any sort of veneer treatment.

Hi Phil,
if you have 4 immediate veneers on your upper front 4 teeth they would cost £300 each. The fangs could be smoothed down and polished to reduce their ‘fang-like’ appearance. Whitening would be best done on all teeth (upper and lower) together before the veneers. We currently charge £395 for our whitening (results guaranteed or your money back!)
