Orthodontics

Our Orthodontists know that people want different things from their Teeth Straightening Treatment, and for different reasons. In our experience, we all have a much better time of it when patients are entirely happy with their orthodontic method of choice before they decide to start.

Our first job is to listen, inform, explain, take feedback, and uncover the method of orthodontics that is right for you.

We deliver a full range of orthodontic treatments because this helps to meet individual needs, and ensures that we can always offer value for money.

With this in mind we divide our ortho-options  into 3 treatment groups

Having happy patients means we are achieving our objective, and taking the time to explain all the options makes all the difference.  In our orthodontic-consultations  we  discuss the pros and cons of each method of moving the teeth for you eg how fast the teeth can be moved, what you will look like during treatment, and the cost of each choice. This is a fully interactive process that we undertake with all our new patients.

For a preview of what we can do please see the guide below.  If you can’t see what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to phone us or book a consultation to find out even more….

Our new private Orthodontist is starting in May, who will be offering free consultations until the end of June 2010, so why not book ahead? Please drop us a note using the form on the left.

We enjoy meeting new people and talking about Orthodontics, it’s one of our favourite subjects!

Winning Smiles ‘Express’ Orthodontic Makeover

typical cases take 2-4 months using

* Removable Inman aligners (braces) that have a small wire coming around the front teeth
* Or virtually invisible aligners eg ‘ Invisalign
* Or white brackets on the front 6 teeth with a wire running through them

Our Express cases straighten only the front 4 or 6 teeth:  great if these are the only ones bothering you.

Prices start from £1450

Pros -inexpensive and very quick
Cons – will not change the shape and appearance of the chin or lips. Purely cosmetic. Only straightens the front 4 or 6 teeth. These cases can require minimal filing of the teeth to make them thinner to make the space necessary to correct overlaps.

Winning Smiles ‘Conventional Bracket and Wire’ Orthodontics

Used for moderate to complex cases
Cases take 6-20 months

* Wires and brackets – can be white brackets to improve aesthetics during treatment
* Upper, lower or both jaws
* From £2500

Pros – can be used for very complex cases or for speedy treatment of mild cases. These braces give the finest control of tooth movement and thus are viewed by many orthodontists as the best clinical method.
Cons – other people will know you are having it done (although white brackets help). Fixed brackets are less comfortable on lips and difficult to clean around

Winning Smiles ‘Aesthetic Orthodontics’

Suitable for moderately complex cases requiring the movement of many teeth. Also used for movement of just front teeth (see ‘Express’ above)

Cases take 12-24 months (less for cases involving only front teeth) using

*Invisalign ‘virtually invisible’ aligners or a  similar system

* Combination cases using wires on the inside of the teeth (invisible from the front) to start with followed by the ‘virtually invisible’ aligners

*Combination cases using white brackets and wires for a short time with the Invisalign-type aligners the majority of the time

Can be used to treat upper, lower or both jaws
From £3500 (for cases under 12 months)

Pros - can be used to treat cases of moderate complexity, very discreet
Cons – takes longer than conventional orthodontics or ‘express’,  complex cases may require the patient to wear brackets and wires for a short time either at the beginning or end of treatment
