Based in Romford Essex, our orthodontists are trained in every aspect of teeth straightening, for both adults and children.
We know that people want different things from their Teeth Straightening Treatment, and for different reasons. Our first job is to listen, inform, explain, take feedback, and uncover the method of orthodontics that is right for you.
Orthodontics has come a long way in the last few years, and a much wider range of treatments are available. We feel we have everything to meet individual needs, and ensure value for money, speed and discretion.
Our orthodontic services are broadly divided into 3 treatment groups
We take the time to explain all the options, it makes all the difference to our patients.
In our orthodontic-consultations we discuss the pros and cons of each method of moving your teeth eg how fast the teeth can be moved, what you will look like during treatment, and the cost of each choice. This is a fully interactive process that we undertake with all our new patients.
For a preview of what we can do please see the guide below. If you can’t see what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to phone us or book a consultation if you want to find out more. There’s never any pressure to proceed, we set out to be a friendly practice.
We enjoy meeting people and talking about Orthodontics, it’s one of our favourite subjects!
Winning Smiles ‘Express’ Orthodontic Makeover
Using great new treatments like Inman Aligners, our express makeovers can transform your smile in around just 12 -18 weeks. Express treatments work by straightening only your front 4 or 6 teeth, and they straighten your natural teeth with less hassle and expense in a shorter period of time than any other orthodontic treatment. And because the treatment times are shorter, it also costs far less than a traditional brace!
Inman Aligners are removable, fast and represent a totally new concept in cosmetic dentistry.
Other express orthodontic treatments include:
* virtually invisible aligners like “Simpli5” and “Invisalign”
* white brackets on the front 6 teeth with a wire running through them
Prices start from £1250
Typical cases take 2-4 months
Pros -inexpensive and very quick
Cons – will not change the shape and appearance of the chin or lips. Purely cosmetic. Only straightens the front 4 or 6 teeth. For some treatment methods, these cases can require minimal filing of the teeth to make them thinner to make the space necessary to correct overlaps.
Winning Smiles ‘Conventional Bracket and Wire’ Orthodontics
Conventional bracket and wire braces are used for moderate to complex tooth straightening cases.
Up until recently treatment times took anything between 6-20 months, but following the introduction of the new Damon System, treatment times, the number of visits required during treatment and the cost of your treatment have all been dramatically reduced.
Using the Damon System also means that most people’s teeth can be straightened without the need for extractions. The treatment is gentle, safe and fast and leads to a wonderful, natural looking smile. Our new Winning Smiles Orthodontist Almarie Odendaal is fully trained in using the Damon System. You can arrange a consultation with her to find out whether you could benefit from this new treatment by using the form on the left.
In some cases, traditional bracket and wire braces will still be the best way forward. The pros and cons of the conventional approach are listed below.
* Wires and brackets – can be white brackets to improve aesthetics during treatment
* Upper, lower or both jaws
* From £2250
Pros – can be used for very complex cases or for speedy treatment of mild cases. These braces give the finest control of tooth movement and thus are viewed by many orthodontists as the best clinical method.
Cons – other people will know you are having it done (although white brackets help). Fixed brackets are less comfortable on lips and difficult to clean around
Winning Smiles ‘Aesthetic Orthodontics’
Suitable for moderately complex cases requiring the movement of many teeth. Also used for movement of just front teeth (see ‘Express’ above)
Cases take 12-24 months (less for cases involving only front teeth) using
*Invisalign ‘virtually invisible’ aligners or a similar system
* Combination cases using wires on the inside of the teeth (invisible from the front) to start with followed by the ‘virtually invisible’ aligners
*Combination cases using white brackets and wires for a short time with the Invisalign-type aligners the majority of the time
Can be used to treat upper, lower or both jaws
From £2550 (for cases under 12 months)
Pros - can be used to treat cases of moderate complexity, very discreet
Cons – takes longer than conventional orthodontics or ‘express’, complex cases may require the patient to wear brackets and wires for a short time either at the beginning or end of treatment
